Old Weir
The PCs’ arrival in Old Weir coincided with the Midwinter Festival, for which the town was going all out. Candied badgers everywhere, merry-making, lights strung up all around, etc. Nancy slinked off to find the group lodging in exchange for a few nights playing her violin. The Wandering Wolf Inn accepted her offer. Dalag’se traded some frogs he had caught for flintstone. They hit up Myrtle’s Wondrous Items and attempted to furtively lift something that didn’t belong to them only to realize that a retired wizard like Myrtle did indeed have powerful and effective precautions in place to prevent just such thievery. She told them about having acquired many of the items from adventures who retired to Lakeville after hitting it big in Myth Sveldin. Dalag’se traded a frog for a finish carpenter’s hammer. They asked about the magical dagger and Myrtle had very little poker face, claiming the shop was now closed and she had to be off. Shoo.
The PCs then turned paranoid and tried to evade their own shadows. Ironica steered Dalag’se away from the stables, and the donkeys. Eventually they ended up Under The Bridge downtown where they saw a beautiful old mural painted and two kids with a stuffed badger hanging out. Slothrup tried to charm them, the others thought he was creepy, the kids liked him. Ziriel cleaned his fingernails with his sword. Safad saw dragons disguised as canaries everywhere. Ironica noticed the stone bridge was a beautiful white color, different from most stones in the area, and much older than the town. The kids told them about the town’s founding. The PCs noticed a goateed figure pretending not to watch them.
They skidaddled and found their way to Three Copper Annie’s and settled down next to Roger the apple farmer. Dalag’se’s ate soup. Ironica and Slothrup checked for the tail.
They headed for the Badger Den tavern where they discovered Julian often came in, and got a room to wait. Darkness overtook them and Tallin Gale with a badger longsword demanded to know where the dagger came from. Darkness.
