The High Moor

Golun-dal was an orog offal pit cleaner and hedge wizard of the Red Tusk tribe. He was tired of being seen and used for his brutish strength and fled the tribe after they failed to take his arcane aspirations seriously (he heard a spell being cast by a human he recently killed and was able to replicate it). He is a clever mimic with near perfect recall and stuck with the party for the promise of learning some of their magic--and to help flee the Moor so he can find a place to for serious study. This was all before he became Golun-dal Blackbane...

Mootscarp NPCs

Bhin is a wiry, dark-haired, human of middle age who owns the Mootscarp Inn. He has a sign up that outlaws magic on his premises, yet he seems to be a magic user himself. By 1546 he has expanded the Mootscarp, seems to have adopted a gnome daughter, and hired a half-sea giant to keep order. He has alluded to a past life in Waterdeep, and to a an archivist who keeps a secret of his at Melarn's Door.

Ledo is the handsome, graceful, half-elf bartender with dark eyes who serves as Bhin's right hand man at the Mootscarp. He seems to broker in information.

Bhin and Ledo employ ten permanent staff:

Delmeer & Casla – a romeo and Juliet like story between red tusk and mist crow…they eloped and live in the neutral territory of the Mootscarp. She is Redtusk, he is mistcrow, defeated another suitor and won respect. The mistcrows don’t really care he left but they don’t consider him kin anymore. They have a half-orc daughter, Grenna. In charge of the rooms and housekeeping.

Crollis – A human of unknown origin, he is a serious man who runs the accounting, and procurement.

Kex – goblin housekeeper. He does laundry, very strong.

Flamdur – ex mist crow, chef. Does both a common meal and a fancy one.

DeRess – a yuan-ti pureblood, fled the hills. The serpent sons love him but he is an outcast, he doesn’t understand why they revere him. He’s neutral. Takes care of the bar at the common side.

4 goblins who barely speak common, they are the laborers. Help in all aspects. DurmAlpKnife, and Wallace. Tight knit unit, keep to themselves. Efficient. They serve as porters, prep cooks, cleaners, latrine diggers (and shovelers), market hands, messengers, shavers, etc.

Laurie the Half-Giant is a half-sea Giant who keeps order around the Mootscarp. He wears simple canvas tunics and has a den that smells briny. He has taken a liking to Lissoli.

Lissoli is Bhin's adopted daughter, a gnome from the North. She manages the front of house.

Blouder Brig is an explorer who has a semi-permanent home at the Mootscarp since he cannot seem to find exactly what it is he is looking for on the High Moor. He is a boisterous drunk and a demon dice player.

Felix Rain is a self styled "ranger" but aristocrat may be more his profession. He found himself in the Mootscarp Inn after crossing most of the High Moor and failing to kill any trolls as contracted by the nobility of Daggerford after a woman named Anna from the Brotherhood skipped out on the contract. He recently opened up a business purchasing troll heads, after a strange new business associate, an island dwarf, pitched him the idea. Felix was recently implicated in the theft of Blouder Brig's prized dragon scale.

Kalax Fen is a matronly old goblin hag herbalist of the Night Wing tribe. She revers her leader, Drascua the Blind, and peddles some of the secret "bitteroot" she has developed. She took a liking to Rya at the Mootscarp and helped bring her out of her shell a bit.

Til, Wayz, and Opi are goblin wererats who could smell the "blessing" of lycanthropy on the PCs. They invited them to drinks and sought a pinky from each of them as a gift to some creature they worship called The Hark (also the name of their tribe).

Chekka Burr is the representative in residence for the Red Tusk orc tribe. He has grown accustomed to the softer, finer, life as a diplomat at the inn, where he looks after the tribes purchase needs from off-Moor.

Crollis is a human of unknown origin who serves as the Mootscarp's serious-minded bean counter. He oversees all aspects of the business including the brothel. Nothing seems to surprise him.

DeRees is a yuan-ti pureblood who must have fled the Serpent Hills and made his home at the Mootscarp, where he serves as the barkeep on the popular (common) side of the tavern.
