Escape from Myth Sveldin
With Po dead on the ground and the illithid defeated, the group pondered their next move. Rya revived and was terrified. Why was she bound, who were they...and why did Ironica have her mother's dagger?
The group thought it best to answer her questions, but out of the exposed area of statue square. They retreated to the amphitheater and hid out with "Kainen", their stone golem protector, among the rubble of Gravelle and Quake. Safad was wary of the stone golem but when Zireael told it to guard the amphitheater and protect the room, it seemed to listen.
Ironica and Safad told Rya of her mother's death and how they had traveled to Old Weir, in search of her, and instead found the Hibernal and her lover, D'Luk. Rya sobbed throughout the story and said the last thing she remembered was travelling to Lakeville as part of plan she and Sha'hale had hatched. Her mother sensed something was amiss with the Monarch, noticing the all-too-coincidental rise of Lakeville and the Monarch. She went to infiltrate his organization while Rya went to Lakeville and then hired a guide to Myth Sveldin, but then...then...it went blank.
A look of horror crossed Rya's face before she passed out.

While the group strategized, Zireael went to stand guard by the entrance to the amphitheater. Rya came to, and they gave her charge of her mother's dagger, which she clung too dearly. She rocked back and forth and said she remembered more.
"The guides from Lakeville led me to Myth Sveldin where we ascended the massive stair, passed through the labyrinth and statue trap, on to statue square and made our forays into the Ruby caves. The guides and I were able to loot pouches full of the gem-studded walls before we were ambushed by a strange beast called a Roper. We defeated it and the guards persuaded me to pursue a cache of magical armor they had heard was hidden just down a corridor they called Cloaker Hall. After an hour or so we turned a corner to find a grim force of enthralled servants: strange dog-like beasts with brains for heads; grey-eyed humanoids with large axes; a fearsome underdark monster...all waiting for us, with a hideous creature levitating above them, controlling them. It was--"
Rya looked agitated and panicked before she passed out again. The group untied her and helped her up, after a time she came to again.
"I remember they brought me back to Lakeville, it is hazy, but there we all were training for something. We would practice. I don't remember..."
Rya fell unconscious once more.
Zireael and Safad decided to try to use their sveldinstones to unlock the secrets of the Menhirs. They tried all manner of communication but were stymied at every turn. Though the Standing Stones did yell out just-not-quite-random-enough-to-satisfy-the-pattern-seeking-brains-of-the-group phrases, assertions, and salutations.

Rya came to and was panicked. She demanded to know what they were still doing in the Underdark, could she not be rid of this place? She did not know how she escaped enthrallment but they were likely coming after them all, soon!
The group looked at each other anxiously, and agreed to put the Menhirs, Kas, and the third sveldinstone behind them. They made for statue square and the exit.
As they passed through the square, Rya saw the body of Po.
"That's Po Trout. Why is he here...why is he--that's what I'm doing here isn't it? They took me, enthralled me, and I led you here. Didn't I? Oh, Silvanus, no, no--"
Rya collapsed. She soon recovered, noticed the body of the illithid and vomited. She looked at the figure tenderly before revulsion crossed her devastated features.
"That's...Master Ssefillusk...I mean, that's [dry heaves] the one who took me."
She pulled herself up off the ground and charged the body with her mothers dagger, hacking it to pieces, stabbing it over and over until she was covered in the thing's gore and crying into her hands.
"We need to get the hell out of here. If this just happened we are fucked. GO!"
The group needed no further prodding, and they made their way to the labyrinth. They encountered a statue and realized they had Po to guide them before...which side was the safe one? They remembered the trick to the statue trap and made a smooth exit. Anxiety gnawed at them as they realized they made their way down into the ruin with a guide to lead them. Getting out would be no small feat.
As they descended the massive stone stair case, they heard a strange grating shuffling coming from the labyrinth. As they prepared for battle, it turned out to be Xorn! He spun around them affectionately and in his way bid them farewell before disappearing into a nearby stone wall. The group made haste toward the path they came.
They passed the deathplace of the last of the endling's mate, with Zireael and Slothrop leading the way, doing their best to remember the path. After 24 hours they came to a fork they did not recognize and realized they were lost.

With the full moon rising any hour now, and the illithid force hot on their heels, the group made camp to plan their next move.
